Vice President, Legislative Affairs | MEMA, the Vehicle Suppliers Association

Catherine Boland joined MEMA, the Vehicle Suppliers Association, in September 2005 as director of government affairs based in the association’s Washington, D.C. office. In December 2010, Boland was promoted to Vice President of Legislative Affairs. Ms. Boland manages the association's efforts to work closely with Congress to accomplish the legislative priorities of MEMA and its affiliates.  Her duties include leading the lobbying efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on behalf of MEMA’s original equipment, aftermarket, remanufacturing and heavy-duty members. She represents the industry on a wide range of legislative priorities including vehicle technology and emissions, safety and transportation policy, raw materials, and labor policy issues.  

Before joining MEMA, Ms. Boland spent almost 10 years on Capitol Hill, most recently serving as a legislative assistant for former Sen. George V. Voinovich (R-Ohio) in his Washington, D.C., office. Ms. Boland was responsible domestic policy issues including energy, environment, agriculture, and technology. Her experience also includes working as a legislative correspondent in the Washington office of former Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-Okla.).  Ms. Boland earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in politics, with a minor in philosophy, from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. She resides in Maryland with her husband Joe and their three sons.
