Postponement: CAR Conference 2020

As the organizer of The CAR Conference, we have been in close communication with our key partners including NAAA, IARA, the IAG, and our key sponsors including Cox Automotive, KAR Global, ServNet, America’s Auto Auction, and IAA among others.  For 25 years, CAR has become a true gathering place for the industry and an incredible place to network, learn, and conduct business. None of this would be possible without our partners on this event so we wanted to weigh all of our alternatives and listen to each and every constituency that invests in this event alongside Bobit Business Media.

After a great deal of discussion, we have jointly decided to postpone the 2020 CAR Conference. The safety and health of our attendees and partners is of paramount importance at this time. With that in mind, please stay tuned for more information from Bobit Business Media, IARA, and NAAA concerning our updated plans.

We want to take a minute to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all of our partners on this event. We couldn’t do it without you and we won’t do it without you. The NAAA and IARA, along with the senior leadership at Cox Automotive, KAR Global, ServNet, America’s Auto Auction, and IAA have all been incredibly supportive throughout this process and we look forward to putting together a great remarketing event with all of you down the road. If you have questions regarding your participation, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-576-8788 or email; [email protected].

We understand concerns about COVID-19 Coronavirus are top of mind, and we want to be as transparent as possible and share information about what we are doing to prepare for the CAR Conference in Las Vegas.

  • Major sponsors including IAA, Sherwin-Williams and ServNet have reconfirmed their sponsorships. We appreciate their leadership and commitment to our industry and your customers.
  • We have a total of 22 sponsors, 9 of which have signed up in the last two weeks.
  • For attendance, we have added 50 new registrants since Feb. 21 when the travel restrictions and coronavirus started to have an impact.
  • Total attendance as of today is 400 and climbing. These are your customers who have paid to come to the show and are expecting to see and purchase your products and services. They are committed to attending.
  • NAAA and IARA are continuing their support of the conference and will be attending.
  • At this time there are two reported cases in Clark County, and no health authorities have issued any travel notices, precautions, or guidance relating to travel to Las Vegas. According to the Southern Nevada Health District, southern Nevada and resort properties have not been identified as being at higher risk for disease transmission.

Our U.S. events are taking place as scheduled.

We, like many other tradeshow and conference producers, want to ensure the health and safety of all our customers and attendees at our events. This is our top priority. We are adhering to the suggestions of the U.S. and state public health guidelines as they are developing with regards to the COVID-19 virus. As the COVID-19 situation is evolving, we strongly advise that all exhibitors and visitors review, from the most trusted source, the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) travel health notices related to this outbreak. These notices are updated as more information becomes available and, if there are any changes with entry to the U.S., they can be found here.

Exhibitors and Visitors who are not impacted by travel restrictions are able to attend our events. Please note, travel advisories do vary by country so please be sure to review the latest advisories and U.S. entry policies for your region. The U.S. and several countries currently have imposed travel restrictions from China which will be enforced. As a precaution, we are implementing a range of additional hygiene measures at our events:

  • Increased cleaning and disinfection across all high-volume touchpoints
  • Onsite Emergency Medical personnel
  • Availability of sanitizing and disinfection materials for public use
  • Awareness and training to Bobit staff on standard personal preventative measures
  • Advice to exhibitors on implementing effective cleaning and disinfection of booths, offices along with guidance on personal hygiene measures and common preventive behavior
  • Installing signage at the event reminding attendees of hygiene recommendations.

Our team will continue to monitor the developments. We are constantly considering and consulting with experts on what the appropriate sanitary, health and other measures should be and can assure our partners and customers that all appropriate measures will be in place at our shows. We will follow-up with as needed information should the advisories change. If you have questions regarding your participation, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-576-8788 or email; [email protected].
