Frank Abagnale

Sandy Schwartz is president of Cox Automotive. In 2011, Sandy became president of Manheim, where he led the company to identify growth opportunities in the automotive industry space. Under his leadership, Manheim acquired Dealer Services Corporation and merged it with Manheim’s Financial Solutions to form NextGear Capital, Inc. Prior to this role, he served as president of Cox Media Group. He joined Cox in 1985 and served in various roles including president of Cox Arizona Publishing, executive vice president of the Austin American-Statesman, vice president and general manager of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, executive vice president of Cox Newspapers and vice president of business development for Cox Enterprises. Sandy’s automotive experience includes serving as president of Cox Auto Trader from 2006 to 2008, and as a board member of Autotrader.com.


Patti Wood, MA, CSP

Patti Wood has shared her energy, humor and savvy with Fortune 500 and association audiences for 25 years.  She is called “the gold standard of body language experts” by the Washington Post and credited in the New York Times with bringing the topic into the national consciousness. As a communication expert she trains, coaches and consults with law enforcement, the media and corporate clients. A former university instructor in communication, she is the author of Success Signals-Understanding Body Language, Easy Speaking-Presentation skills and The Conflict Cure. Darrin Aiken

In 1989 Darrin Aiken began working for Wheels, Inc. He started in the vehicle remarketing department as a regional sales manager. In 1999 was promoted to assistant vice president of vehicle remarketing with responsibility for all wholesale vehicle sales, including sales to drivers and employees. Darrin helped develop the WheelsDirect Program for selling vehicles to drivers and employees. He also launched the Wheels Promotional Sale Schedule with their top performing auctions. The newest strategic initiative is building the used vehicle brand called “Wheels.” Darrin is a member of IARA, Used Truck Association, and participates on both the Manheim Client Advisory Board and the ADESA Advisory Board.

Mike Antich is executive editor and associate publisher for Automotive Fleet Magazine. Mike has been involved in the fleet industry for more than 25 years, writing and editing more than 5,000 articles on fleet management, in addition to his active membership in industry associations, including the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), and the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA). Mike is a past AFLA president, a 15-year member of the NAFA Foundation Board of Directors, and long-time member of the NAFA Affiliates Committee. He was chairman of the IARA industry task force that developed the first-ever Certified Automotive Remarketers (CAR) program and has served 10 years on the IARA Board of Directors.

Jeannie Chiaromonte is vice president of asset remarketing for Bank of America responsible for sales and transportation of auto, RV, and marine repossessions. She manages all aspects of the auction remarketing operations on a national level and is responsible for developing all strategies associated with the processes, audit and compliance and results tracking. Jeannie joined the Bank in 1991. Her experience also includes lease end term and collateral recovery. Jeannie was appointed president of IARA (International Automotive Remarketers Alliance) in 2015, and serves on the board of directors and executive board. She is also CAR certified.


Chris Clarke

Chris Clarke has worked in the remarketing and auto industry for over 25 years. His work experience includes varying remarketing roles for a major rental car company, sales and operational positions in the truck and trailer leasing industry, and most recently remarketing for the world’s largest privately held, family-owned fleet management company, ARI. In March 2015, Chris joined ARI and currently has oversight of operational remarketing throughout North America. He is a member of the IARA and holds a seat on the Board of Directors.  


James Crocker

James Crocker has spent over 20 years in the automotive industry, and his first 12 years he served as director of fixed operations for the 12th largest dealer chain in the country. In 2008 he joined Merchants Fleet Management as manager of the maintenance management department. Later he oversaw the ancillary services division and then was tasked to develop both the purchasing and remarketing departments. Since 2012, James has assumed the role of director of fleet operations, and is responsible for all aspects of vehicle acquisitions, remarketing, maintenance management, transportation and residual value forecasting. 


Richard Curtis

Richard Curtis is a partner in Auction Management Solutions, Inc. Richard works with auto auctions, auto finance companies, vehicle manufacturers, corporate fleets, commercial lessors, third party servicers, and e-commerce concerns. He has done work with a group of companies headquartered in Canada that evaluate and participate in various automotive industry ventures in North America. Richard, has over 40 years of industry experience, including 18 years as general manager of auto auctions, and six years as general manager of franchise auto dealerships. He has spent the last 16 years consulting as a partner with TPC Management Company and recently served as the vice president of industry relations for the ServNet Auction Group.


John Elizaga, CAR

John Elizaga is the director of remarketing operations at EMKAY. John leads EMKAY’s entire North American remarketing operations. He has been with EMKAY since 1999 and held management responsibilities in accident management, vehicle licensing services, vehicle acquisitions, and vehicle remarketing. John has over 18 years of experience in the automotive industry specializing in fleet management and vehicle remarketing. John has earned the industry accreditation as a “Certified Automotive Remarketer” and “Remarketing & Used-Car Industry’s 40 under 40” honoree. John is also the chairman of the IARA Technology Committee.


Jerry Hinton

Jerry Hinton is the current president of the NAAA and general manager of ADESA Portland. Jerry has been in the industry over 30 years with the Brasher's Auction Group and was part of the ADESA acquisition last spring. Jerry also serves in his community as a second-term city councilor of the fourth largest city in Oregon. Jerry holds a BS in finance from Brigham Young University, an MBA from National University and a JD from Concord School of Law.


Tom Kontos

Tom Kontos is chief economist for KAR Auction Services Inc., and has more than 25 years of experience in market research, financial analysis and strategic planning.  He makes frequent presentations to clients and at automotive industry conferences, and is often quoted in the trade and national press.  He is author of Pulse, a report on economic conditions and the new and used vehicle markets in the US and Canada, and the Kontos Kommentary, a monthly e-mail report and video on wholesale used vehicle price trends.  His ADESA Analytical Services team produces numerous value-added studies for clients and dealers. Tom was awarded the 2016 Ed Bobit Industry Icon Award by IARA and NAAA.


Tony Long

Tony Long is executive director for the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance. His implementation of new membership processes and sponsorship programs have resulted in increased participation from industry partners and record highs for both enrollment and conference attendance. Tony came to IARA after spending four years with a leading auto lender, but he is best known for his twenty-year career in the wholesale auction industry. He is a past president of the National Auto Auction Association and the first president and Fellow of NAAA’s Warren Young Scholastic Foundation.


John Manchin

John Manchin holds the position of national fleet remarketing manager for Subaru of America, Inc. with responsibility for the asset liquidation and remarketing activities for all Subaru vehicle groups in the secondary market. John began his career at Subaru in December 2001 as remarketing manager for Subaru Auto Leasing with the responsibility of liquidating the consumer off-lease portfolio. John introduced and incorporated multi-channel, upstream remarketing at Subaru in March 2003 by designing and implementing SubaruSOLD, an internet-based remarketing system. John possesses a total of 42 years of automobile industry experience.


John Mathiowetz

John Mathiowetz has been in the automotive industry for over 16 years. His career path has made stops along the way in dealership, independent auto auctions, more than 10 years with Avis Budget Group, and a recent move to head of remarketing for Xchange Leasing, an Uber company. He is tasked with building a remarketing team to liquidate all units for Xchange as well as assisting in the acquisition of vehicles for their rapidly growing fleet. John was recognized as one of Automotive Remarketing’s Remarketing & Used-Car Industry’s 40 Under 40 as a member of their inaugural recipient class in 2015.


Levi McCoy, CAR

Levi McCoy is responsible for directing end-of-lease vehicle sales via all remarketing channels. Prior to assuming his current position, Levi served as the organizational development trainer for LeasePlan. In that role, Levi was instrumental in developing the remarketing training curriculum introduced with the launch of LeasePlan’s enhanced remarketing system in 2007. Prior to LeasePlan, Levi was with a major internet provider and major US airline/computer reservation system as a call center manager. Levi is a member of several key industry organizations including the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA), where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board, the National Association of Automotive Auctions (NAAA), and Conference of Automotive Remarketing (CAR).


Tim Meta

Tim Meta currently manages the repossession process and the vehicle, RV, marine, mobile home and motorcycle consumer remarketing portfolio, on a national level for Fifth Third Bancorp. He manages all aspects of the auction remarketing operations and is responsible for developing all strategies associated with the remarketing process and result tracking. He has 29 plus years in automotive finance starting with General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC). Tim also worked for SouthTrust Bank as national automotive marketing manager/ vice president and was the consumer remarketing manager/ group vice president. He is a member of the IARA and serves as vice president of the board of directors and chair of the IARA compliance committee.


Scott Mousaw

Scott Mousaw is the director of loss mitigation for United Auto Credit Corporation, a subprime auto lender based in Newport Beach, CA. Scott joined United Auto Credit in 2002. Scott has held management positions in branch operations, loan servicing and repossessions. Since 2009, he oversees national remarketing and recovery operations for the company. Scott has been in the automotive industry since 1994.


Mark Nagel

Mark Nagel is moving into his 5th year as head of remarketing after spending the prior 28 years with FIAT Chrysler engaged in a wide variety of areas from real estate, dealer development, sales, marketing and training. Jarrod Nawojski

Jarrod Nawojski is the manager of auction sales & performance for Fiserv, a global leader in financial services technology solutions and extensive business process outsourcing services. Since starting his automotive career with Remarketing Services of America in 2000, he has held a number of roles that include lease maturity management, client services and auction representation. Jarrod’s primary responsibility within Fiserv is managing the remarketing program, process and strategy for numerous bank, credit union and finance company clients.


Jeff Perkins
General Manager, Fleet Operations

Jeff Perkins is the general manager, fleet operations for Motorlease. Jeff joined Motorlease in 2002 and has had multiple roles and responsibilities in accounting, sales and operations. In 2007, as the purchasing & remarketing manager, Jeff assumed responsibility for North American acquisitions and remarketing as well as residual value forecasting. In 2014, Jeff was promoted to general manager, fleet operations and currently oversees vehicle acquisitions, registration & delivery, insurance, maintenance, residual values, titles and all facets of the remarketing process. Jeff has been a member of IARA since 2012 and a Certified Automotive Remarketer since 2015.


Pierre Pons

Pierre Pons has 30 years of automotive industry career experience, including: vehicle remarketing with US Fleet Leasing and Wheels, Inc., sales management and remarketing administration with ADT Automotive, and executive management positions with Greater Auction Group and BSC America Automotive Services. In 1996, Pierre founded TPC Management, which specializes in executive search for management positions across the spectrum of automotive industry, project-based consulting related to wholesale vehicle portfolio remarketing strategies, and advisory roles in acquisitions/divestitures. He also founded Auction Academy, the premier continuing education program for auto auction industry professionals. Pierre is active in a variety of associations such as the NAAA and has served as a board member for the IARA.


Bob Rauschenberg
Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Bob Rauschenberg has spent his entire professional career in the automotive industry. Some of his key positions include vice president of remarketing for two of the largest fleet and lease companies, president of ADT’s auction services division, president of ABC Auto Auctions, and currently as ADESA’s executive vice president of sales and marketing. At ADESA, he is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to increases sales, sales efficiency and brand awareness, and for maintaining customer relationships. In 2016, Bob was honored with two lifetime achievement awards, the IARA Circle of Excellence Award and the NAAA Pioneer Award. 


Jeremy Robb

Jeremy Robb has had several roles within Nissan North America and NMAC over the last five years. Currently, he functions as the senior manager over sales, strategy and analytics for the Nissan and Infiniti Remarketing function. In addition to planning the sales strategy for NIRS, Jeremy is the primary contact for Nissan’s outside business partners. Prior to joining Remarketing, he served as the finance controller for NMAC and has worked in corporate strategy and supplier risk management.


Michael J. Rohdy, CIC

Michael has 22 years’ experience as an insurance agent serving the auto auction industry. He has been responsible for leading several risk management campaigns for the NAAA, including the 2007 production of the auction industry’s first lane safety training DVD, the NAAA Cycle of Safety, and development of numerous driver training resources. Michael is an active faculty member of the Auction Academy and is a regular contributor to NAAA’s On the Block magazine. The NAAA Executive Committee honored Michael, as a Warren Young Fellow, in November 2016 for his involvement in coordinating the NAAA Safe T. Sam initiative.


Howard Segal

Howard Segal joined Wells Fargo Dealer Services in 2003 as vice president and national remarketing manager, and is responsible for all strategy associated with vehicle sale and specialty processes for the disposition of recovered assets. Before joining Wells Fargo, Howard was vice president and national remarketing manager for Bank of America where he was responsible for indirect and lease vehicle disposition on a national level. Earlier in his career, he worked for PNC National Bank as a remarketing manager, and was focused on all aspects of off lease vehicle termination programs and sales strategies as well as retail installment collateral sale processes on a national level.


Paul Seger
Vice President of Asset Remarketing
Element Fleet Services
During his 34 year career at GE and now Element, Paul Seger has held multiple positions within the fleet services and consumer finance vehicle remarketing divisions. Paul was instrumental in navigating the consumer finance business through one of the most challenging cycles in the automobile industry and, along with his team, was responsible for mitigating millions of dollars in forecasted residual value losses. In addition, Paul is a GE Six Sigma Green Belt with multiple quality improvement projects to his credit. Beginning in 2008, Paul led the launch of GE’s automotive remarketing services business for non-lease customers. In 2015, Paul was named Consignor of the Year by his industry peers.


Ira Silver
National Auto Auction Association (NAAA)
Dr. Ira Silver has been in the field of Business & Economic Analysis for over 30 years. He is an Associate Professor in Managerial Economics at TCU’s Neeley School of Business and Economist for the NAAA. Before coming to The Neeley School of Business, he was Chief Economist and Director of Strategic Planning at the JCPenney Company. Earlier in his career Dr. Silver was an Assistant VP and Senior Economist at The Bank of New York. He has taught at several universities and has been quoted in publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and the Dallas Business Journal.


Linda Silverstein

Linda Silverstein is general manager, remarketing and rental operations Ford Motor Company. She has been responsible for Ford Motor Company vehicle remarketing since 2002 and rental operations since 2007. Linda joined the Ford Motor Company in 1982 as an analyst in Ford Division's Detroit District Sales Office. Linda was named auction department manager in 2001. Prior to that, she was the head of Automotive Remarketing Services where her team offered the company’s remarketing capabilities to external customers. Linda was an NAAA Hall of Fame recipient in 2009, Consignor of the Year in 2010 and was honored as a Warren Young Fellow.


Brian Smith

Brian Smith is a vice president for Santander Consumer/Chrysler Capital and oversees remarketing operations for the Chrysler Capital portfolio. He joined Santander in 2010 and has over fifteen years of remarketing experience working for various financial institutions. Prior to joining Santander, Brian worked at Chase as a supervisor in the direct to dealer sales program and then as a remarketing representative based in Chicago.


Brooks Stewart

Brooks Stewart has over 20 years of experience in the auto industry with stints in retail, wholesale, rental and the credit areas of the business. Brooks has been with Drivetime Auto Group for over 11 years and currently serves in the role of managing director of Bridgecrest credit company which is the credit arm of Drivetime Car sales.


Tom Stewart

Tom Stewart, an industry specialist in vehicle remarketing and auto finance, is the president of Auction Management Solutions, Inc. Tom works with auto auctions, auto finance companies, vehicle manufacturers, corporate fleets, commercial lessors, third party servicers, and e-commerce companies. Tom, who has over 20 years of industry experience, started his automotive career working for Anglo American Auto Auctions. He later went on to become the director of remarketing for KeyBank. He has spent the last 15 years working on various consulting projects as a partner with TPC Management Company, and held the position of executive vice president of sales for the ServNet Auction Group.


Robert M. Sullivan

As vice president - operations and best practices, Bob is responsible for driving operation efficiencies and improvements across XLerate; identifying and implementing best practices; ensuring operational compliance for state and federal laws; performing operational due diligence on newly acquired auctions; identifying auction targets; conducting due diligence on those targets and taking the target/transaction through closing and into operational integration phase. Prior to joining XLerate, Bob was a partner and shareholder in an automotive consulting firm and an independent auto auction. He has received the consumer credit compliance professional certification by the National Automotive Finance Association, is a licensed auctioneer, and holds the limited Benefit Auctioneer Specialist designation awarded by the National Auctioneer Association.


Dave Sutton

Dave Sutton is the director of CARFAX’s strategic partnership efforts with auctions, OEMs and remarketers. Prior to joining CARFAX in 2010, he was with Volkswagen Credit and was responsible for auction logistics, sales and technical operations for VW and Audi in North America. He also worked as a business strategist supporting EDS, General Motors, IBM, and Cadbury-Schweppes. Dave is a certified automotive remarketer and co-chair of IARA’s Certification Committee.


Sheila Tedesco

Sheila Tedesco began her career in remarketing with Lobel Financial in Anaheim, CA in 1989. Sheila has helped develop and create the remarketing department Lobel has today. She has more than 25 years of experience with Lobel Financial and the automotive remarketing industry. With her knowledge and leadership abilities she has created, managed and implemented strategies and procedures for the Lobel team to optimize their best retention of value of the vehicles nationwide, while continually moving and minimizing the inventory. In 2014, Sheila was honored with the prestigious “Women in Remarketing” Recognizing Excellence award.

Greg Thibault has nearly 35 years of rental industry experience and more than 30 years in the fleet side of the business. His experience includes nearly 20 years with Avis Budget Group, majority of it spent at ABG Headquarters in fleet administration. Greg’s responsibilities include overseeing remarketing, damaged vehicle disposal and manufacturer repurchase turn backs for all of Avis Budget Group’s fleet. Greg recently received the Remarketing Executive of the Year award at the NAAA/NRC conference.

Doug Turner joined J.D. Byrider in 1999 with responsibility for the operations of the Company Store Service Departments. In his current position, Doug’s responsibilities include the acquisition and liquidation of all vehicles for J. D. Byrider and CNAC within Company Store Operations. Doug is instrumental in the creation, design and support of the Vehicle Inventory and Service modules within the Discover Computer System which is the proprietary software for Byrider Systems. Doug previously spent seven years with Sears Automotive Centers where he managed a Tire America, a National Tire and Battery Center, and a Sears Automotive Center.


Charlie Vogelheim

Charlie Vogelheim has been involved in the automotive industry for over 30 years. His multifaceted automotive career began at Kelley Blue Book where as executive editor he played an instrumental role in transforming Kelley from a regional guidebook to an internet powerhouse. After 20 years he joined J.D. Power as a vice president charged with their international roundtables. Most recently, Charlie joined TPC Management as a partner where he is assisting with the Auction Academy and business development for TPC and its client auctions. 


Tom Webb

Tom Webb brings over 40 years of automotive experience to his role as Chief Economist for Cox Automotive. Webb provides analysis of used car market activity based on data from Manheim’s auctions and associated businesses. A summary of his findings is published annually in Manheim’s Used Car Market Report. Prior to joining Manheim, Webb spent 26 years with the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) where he served as a spokesman and analyst for the nation’s franchised new car dealers and specialized in dealership financial analysis.
