Darrin Aiken, Assistant Vice President of Vehicle Remarketing, Wheels, Inc.
Native Illinois resident now residing in Grayslake, IL, with two children. In 1985 received a BS degree in Economics from Illinois State University. After graduating Darrin worked for a large multi-line dealership in both fleet sales and retail sales for two years, until he transferred into their leasing division where he focused on new vehicle leases, along with leasing to smaller commercial fleets until 1989. He then began working for Wheels Inc a fleet management company based in Illinois with over 200,000 vehicles under management. Darrin started in the Vehicle Remarketing Department at Wheels as a Regional Sales Manager where his responsibilities included remarketing vehicles through their preferred wholesale vendor's. Darrin remarketed over 10,000 vehicles per year from 1989 until 1997 when he was promoted to Director of Remarketing responsible for all sales of vehicles through their wholesale vendors until 1999, when he was promoted to his current position of Assistant Vice-President of Vehicle Remarketing with responsibility for all vehicle sale vendors including driver and employee sales with a combined vehicle sales of over 60,000 vehicles a year. Darrin is a Member of the International Automotive Remarketing Alliance, the Used Truck Association, Nation Association of Fleet Resale Dealers, and participates on both the Manheim Client Advisory Board, and the ADESA Advisory Board. Darrin was also responsible for teaching remarketing strategies for selling vehicles for the NAFA Fleet Management classes from 1997 to 1999 and has also presented on many Remarketing panels at conventions on remarketing topic's.
Mike Antich, Editor and Associate Publisher, Automotive Fleet, Bobit Business Media
Mike Antich has been covering the fleet management and vehicle remarketing markets for more than 20 years. Currently, he is the editor and associate publisher for Automotive Fleet Magazine. In addition, Mike is also the editor for five other fleet-related magazines produced by Bobit Business Media. These are Government Fleet, Fleet Financials, Work Truck, Vehicle Remarketing, and Business Driver magazines. His other responsibilities include the editorial content of Fleet-Central, an industry Internet Web site and production of eight weekly e-mail newsletters. Mike is also the USA editor for Fleet Europe, a pan-European fleet management magazine headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. Mike is involved with a variety of fleet and remarketing industry associations. He is a member of the board of directors and secretary for the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA), a member of the board of directors for the NAFA Foundation, vice president of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association, and secretary of the NAFA Affiliates Committee. He is also the chairman of the IARA certification task force. Mike is an industry speaker and has spoken at numerous industry conferences, client advisory councils, and fleet sales meetings.
Susie Avery, Vice President Customer Relations, OVE
Susie Avery is vice president of Online Customer Relations for Manheim's OVE.com, the largest virtual marketplace for dealer-to-dealer and commercial consignor business transactions that occur outside of the physical wholesale auto auctions.
Avery brings more than 17 years of sales, sales management and online auction experience to her position, most recently serving as national sales director for OVE. She is responsible for managing several key areas of the organization, including commercial and, dealer accounts, dealer education, online trade desk and field sales. Before joining OVE in 2004, Avery was a national sales director for Manheim. Prior to that, she held various sales and management positions at Autotrader.com, Landmark Newspapers and car dealerships Susie is a graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jonathan Banks, Senior Director of Consulting Services, Automotive Lease Guide (ALG) Jonathan joined ALG in 1995 holding various jobs within the company. In 2001 after receiving an MBA from Pepperdine University, Jonathan helped establish a formal consulting group at ALG. Currently the company’s consulting group provides a variety of products and services to OEMs and finance groups. ALG’s consulting group incorporates the circular relationship of the new and used market; with the fundamental belief that new market strategy affects used market resale values, and resale values influence the need for certain new market strategies. Our market intelligence allows for a detailed analysis of this critical relationship and gives insight into the impact of product planning / sales strategy decisions. Jonathan’s expertise comes from over 10 years of experience studying the overall automotive market with specific focus on the drivers that influence vehicle performance in both the new and used markets. Jonathan has also gained extensive knowledge from the strong relationships ALG has established with OEMs which has enabled ALG’s consulting group to provide value adding knowledge to evaluate myriad topics in the industry.
Ricky Beggs, Vice President, Managing Editor, Black Book - National Auto Research
Ricky joined the editorial team at Black Book in August 1981, and has held numerous positions including: Editorial Assistant, Canadian Editor, Editor of Trucks and Vans, and his current position as Vice President, Managing Editor. During his tenure with Black Book, there have been many changes related to the number of available products and services, the amount of available information, and the format of such information. One of these includes a change from print-only services, to Internet and mobile/portable device delivery - giving customers near-instant access to a complete source of automotive data.
Sue Boehlke, COO, Manheim Online Solutions
Sue Boehlke is chief operating officer for Manheim’s Online Solutions. In this role, Boehlke oversees Manheim’s OVE.com, Manheim.com and Manheim Simulcast products, leveraging the unique synergies available in each to continuously evolve the largest virtual wholesale vehicle marketplace in the industry. Boehlke most recently served as operating officer of OVE.com. She came to OVE.com from AutoTrader.com, bringing more than 25 years of experience in a breadth of industries to her role. Boehlke’s personal areas of expertise include strategy, planning, business process, and IT management.
Sherb Brown, Vice President and Group Publisher, Bobit Business Media
Sherb Brown is the vice president and group publisher for BBM's AutoGroup. Sherb has covered the auto industry for more than 12 years in various positions with Bobit Business Media in Detroit and Los Angeles. Sherb is actively involved in several auto industry associations including the Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association and the American Car Rental Association. Sherb has a BA from the University of Michigan and a juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.
David Carp, Director, Fleet & Remarketing, Kia Motors America
David Carp is Director, Fleet & Remarketing for Kia Motors America, Inc., one of the fastest growing import brands in the auto industry today. With over 20 years of automotive experience David heads up both Fleet & Remarketing for Kia, he is responsible for the front-end sales to Daily Rental Car Companies and the Remarketing of Company vehicles and rental repurchase units. David’s automotive experience includes retail, wholesale, finance, vehicle valuation, fleet and remarketing. David began his automotive career selling Buick’s at Perry Buick in Norfolk, VA. He moved on to wholesale cars for three years before joining the NADA Official Used Car Guide Company as the Import Vehicle Editor. David’s first role with a Manufacturer was a four-year stint with Nissan Motor Corporation as their Regional Remarketing Manager for the eastern US. He held positions in Remarketing at AutoNation USA and vehicle acquisition with Carmax. David then spent three years with Saab Cars USA as their Remarketing Manager before joining the other Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars of North America as their Asset Remarketing Manager, the position he held before joining Kia in 2002. David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (International Relations ) from Old Dominion University.
Jim Chapman, President, Rapid Remarketing, Inc.
Jim Chapman serves as the president of Rapid Remarketing, Inc., a company which provides comprehensive remarketing process management and consulting services on titled vehicle assets for banks, captive finance companies, credit unions, independent auto finance organizations, rental and fleet industry in North America. Chapman is well established in the automobile and remarketing industry. Since 1987, he has held many roles working in the retail, wholesale, leasing, commercial, auction management and bank repossession arenas. Chapman is a recognized leader within the remarketing industry, a past board member of the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) and has participated on many remarketing industry conference panels and IARA committees. Throughout his career, Chapman has been a strong proponent of value added reconditioning efforts, standardization of processes, terminology and on the leading edge testing out new technologies and sales platforms. Prior to launching Rapid Remarketing, Inc., Chapman's industry positions included: national remarketing manager for Credit Acceptance Corporation, Vehicle Remarketing Services. Chapman also repossessed and remarketed specialty buses, coaches, limousines and construction equipment for Federated Financial Corporation of Farmington, Michigan and also repossessed and remarketed automobiles for Guardian National Acceptance based in Michigan.

Dick Curtis, Partner, TPC Management Company
An industry specialist in vehicle remarketing and redistribution, Dick Curtis is a partner in TPC Management Company. He works with auto auctions, auto finance companies, insurance companies, investment firms, vehicle manufacturers, corporate fleets, commercial lessors, third party services, and e-commerce concerns. He is also the primary U.S. liaison to a group of companies headquartered in Canada that evaluate and participates in various automotive industry ventures in North America. Dick has over 30 years of direct experience in the automotive industry, including six years as general manager of franchise auto dealerships handling three major vehicle lines. Over the last 18 years, he has functioned as both a general manager and consultant to Commercial Auto Auctions in Washington, Louisiana, and Texas. As a result of this experience, Dick has worked with every national account in the United States that claims a wholesale vehicle portfolio. He is active as a presenter and panel moderator at industry trade conferences and holds board seats with two industry trade organizations; the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA), and the Internet Remarketing Business Roundtable (IRBR). He has Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Idaho and is based in Seattle, WA.

Greg Dart, Vice President, Remarketing, Enterprise
Greg Dart (Vice President, Remarketing) began his automotive career 20 years ago in St. Louis, Missouri. Common to many Enterprise officers, his initial responsibilities in the field soon led him to a management promotion in the Car Sales program. As this city’s first special Sales Manager, Dart’s two years of solid performance afforded him the opportunity to become the head of Car Sales operations in the Colorado market, focusing once again on sales management and analysis.
In 1993, Dart’s promotion to the corporate headquarters included working with the field operations as a Vehicle Analyst and Business Consultant. During this important time, Dart was instrumental in the initial expansion of Remarketing Operations into Canada and Europe. In 1997, Dart assumed the role of Assistant Vice President of Remarketing, North American Operations.
Greg Dart currently holds the title of Vice President of Remarketing, North American Operations. These responsibilities include the overseeing of all sales remarketing functions in the U.S and Canada for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Enterprise Fleet Management and Rent-A-Truck divisions. Dart graduated with a degree from B.S. of business administration from Quincy College.
Jim DesRochers, Vice President, General Manager, Dealers Auto Auction Southwest
One of the most well known and well respected leaders in the automotive auction business, Jim brings invaluable experience and resources to DAASW. Jim served 17 years as general manager of Manheim Auctions in California, and has worked with auctions across the country. Jim served as president of the National Auto Auction Association and too many other boards to list. Jim was brought to DAASW in 2007,opening the first sub-prime Lease Lane and bringing in Westlake Financial and Lobel, resulting in the largest volume sale in DAASW history. Jim has also taken DAASW into a new era with a massive reconstruction of the offices and the auction premises.In addition, DAASW has also invested in new technology to help make the auction experience better and more user friendly.
JasonFerreri,Vice President E-Business, Sales and Operations, ADESA
Jason has over 10 years of Auto Remarketing experience. He began his career with Mercedes-Benz Financial (MBF) and held various roles in vehicle remarketing with both MBF and Chrysler Financial. Following these roles, Jason held the National Auction Manager position for Chase Auto Finance. In 2004, he joined ADESA as an Executive Sales Director and was promoted to VP-Sales in 2005. In early 2007 Jason assumed his current role of VP E-Business, Sales and Operations. In this position he is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of ADESA's E-Business initiatives.
Joyce Fierens, Residual Value Management Director , General Motors
Joyce Fierens started her career in retail service at General Motors, learning the importance of the vehicle life-after-sale and total ownership costs. Those lessons stayed with her through positions in product planning, marketing, interactive web strategy and fleet. Currently, as residual value management director at GM, Joyce is building disciplined and consistent residual management processes into the vehicle development process. She is focused on using residual analytic capability to understand the longer-term impact of short term operational decisions. A 22 year veteran of the automotive industry, Joyce holds Engineering and MBA degrees from Iowa State University and the University of Michigan, and has studied advanced management at Harvard.
Scott Finkle, President, AuctionPipline
Scott has worked in the IT industry for 20 years specializing in software and business development. He was the manager of information systems for DAA Northwest (Spokane, WA) from 1999 through 2006. Scott worked on the development and launch of Auction Pipeline since its inception in 2005. He was instrumental in developing a system to integrate auctions that operate on the ASI auction management system, with Auction Pipeline. Scott became the president of Auction Pipeline in January 2008. He also serves as a member of the NAAA technology committee working on universal data access for member auctions.
Don Fowler, Executive Director, Business Development, DataScan Field ServicesDon Fowler is Executive Director, Business Development for DataScan Field Services, the largest floorplan audit and vehicle inspection company in the industry. DFS combines Vehicle Inspection Services (VIS) and Nationwide Audit Services (NAS) into a single organization operating an international network of field specialists which provide floorplan audit and vehicle inspection services to major companies throughout North America. Don started in the remarketing industry in 1974 with PHH of Sparks, Maryland before moving onto executive sales and marketing positions with GE Capital, ServNet and Manheim. During his career Don has held general management positions with Manheim, ADESA and independent auto auctions in North and South Carolina. In addition, Don assisted AutoDaq, an Internet auction provider, and United Road, a vehicle transportation company to expand their respective services to the national remarketing community. Fowler earned a bachelor’s degree from Towson State University and is a United States Navy veteran.
Stephanie Gingras, Assistant General Manager, Dealers Auto Auction SW
Stephanie Gingras brings years of experience in the auction business, working her way up from Dealer Registration, to Sales, to Sales Manager, Fleet Lease Manager, to Lease Sales, and Marketing Manager, and now Assistant General Manager. Stephanie also is serving her second term as an AIADA board member. She also serves on the NAAA legislative committee, and Co-Chair IARA Remarketing Association.
Peter joined American Motors in 1984 as a Sales District Manager and held similar positions with the company, until Chrysler Corporation purchased AMC in 1987; at which time, he was promoted to the position of Business Management Manager for the Chicago Zone. In 1994, Peter relocated to Memphis, TN., and was promoted to Assistant Zone Manager in the Memphis Zone - overseeing sales and service activities of the company's dealer network. In 1997, he was appointed President of Chrysler Taiwan, LLC; the company's distribution company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. He served there from the 1998 merger with Daimler Benz, which created DaimlerChrysler, to 2000, when he was repatriated to the United States and appointed the Phoenix Zone Manager. Peter moved to New York in 2001 as the New York Zone Manager, then to Detroit in 2002 when he was appointed Midwest Business Center Manager. In early 2004, he was appointed Mid Atlantic Business Center Manager, and most recently named Director of Remarketing, in January 2005.
Bob Graham, Director Vehicle Remarketing, ARI - Automotive Resources InternationalBob joined ARI in 1973. Throughout his career, he has been involved in most phases of the leasing business. He started in the New Vehicle Ordering area, moved to the Maintenance Management Department, then to Used Vehicle Sales, where he became Manager, and finally to his present position as Director of Vehicle Remarketing. Bob was instrumental in moving ARI's remarketing program to a web-based environment, whichled to ARIAutoDirect, ARI Virtual Market and other industry-leading programs. Bob is an active industry speaker and panelist, has sat on various Advisory Boards and was named the NAFRD (National Association of Fleet Resale Dealers) Fleet Person of the Year in 1991. Bob attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia , PA , majoring in Economics.
Steve Groene, Remarketing Sales Planning & Distribution Manager, Ford
Steve joined Ford in 1981 and has been involved in many areas of the financing, leasing, rental and remarketing businesses. He began with Ford Credit in Oklahoma City and moved onto branch management position in Dallas and Denver. In 1990, Steve moved back to Oklahoma City as the Ford Auction Area Manager and in 1994 was promoted to Regional Auction Operations Manager for the Eastern US. In 1997, he was appointed the Remarketing Operations Manager for Ford of Europe based in Cologne, Germany. While in Europe Steve establish Ford Factory and Ford Credit auctions in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal and Taiwan. In 2000, Steve was repatriated to the United States to develop the Ford Automotive Remarketing Services (ARS) business and has since held several Ford remarketing positions managing the Rental Repurchase, ARS, Ford Credit,, Premier Automotive Group programs, as well as, Systems and Sales Planning / Distribution.
Jim Hallett, President & CEO, ADESA
Jim Hallett currently serves as President and CEO of ADESA, the wholesale used vehicle auction division of KAR Holdings. ADESA services all of North America (US, Canada and Mexico). Hallett became President of ADESA in 1996, a few years after selling his two Canadian owned auctions to ADESA to form the Canadian division of the company. From 2005 to early 2007, Hallett served a short time away from ADESA as President of Columbus Fair Auto Auction in Columbus, Ohio. Hallett started his career in the retail automotive business where he quickly became the General Sales Manager of a new car franchise group in Canada. He is a graduate of Canada’s Algonquin College.

Dan Heinrich, Vice President of Asset Remarketing, AmeriCredit
Dan Heinrich serves as the Vice President of Asset Remarketing for AmeriCredit, a leading independent automobile finance company that provides financing solutions indirectly through auto dealers and directly to consumers in the United States and Canada. Heinrich has been with AmeriCredit for over six years in many roles including Marketing, eServices, Project Management, and Product Development. In his current role he leads a team responsible for the liquidation of repossessed assets through the utilization of auto auctions across the United States and Canada. Heinrich has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
Jay M. Hinchman, Assistant Vice President of Remarketing World Omni Financial Corp./CenterOne Financial Services.
Jay M. Hinchman is assistant vice president of Remarketing for World Omni Financial Corp./CenterOne Financial Services. In this position, Hinchman is responsible for all vehicle remarketing sales and logistics functions of World Omni Financial Corp., Southeast Toyota Finance and clients of CenterOne Financial Services. Throughout his career, Hinchman has strategically developed and enhanced alternative distribution sales channels and restructured the company’s traditional auction sales process, resulting in maximization of net sale proceeds and improved operational efficiency. Hinchman joined World Omni in 1999 as director of corporate vehicle remarketing. Prior to joining the company, Hinchman served as vice president of remarketing for Bank of America and held management and executive positions at Nations Bank Auto Leasing, Barnett Bank and Oxford Resources Corporation. Hinchman received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
D. Michael Hockett, CEO and President, Auction Broadcasting Company
Mr. Hockett has over 35 years in the wholesale auction business. Mr. Hockett was a founder and served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of ADESA Corporation, formerly a publicly traded company and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Minnesota Power & Light (NYSE: MPL), a diversified utility based in Duluth, Minnesota. Mr. Hockett served as President of ADESA at its inception. Mr. Hockett served as President of Auto Dealers Exchange throughout the Midwest and Southeast United States until its transformation into ADESA.
Mr. Hockett is CEO of Auction Broadcasting Company, has ownership interests, and holds positions, on several automobile related organizations including Auto Dealers Exchange of Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida, an independent wholesale dealers auction; DJH & Associates, a wholesale auto dealer; and Autolign Manufacturing Group, a manufacturing based vehicle parts supplier. Other companies in which Mr. Hockett has ownership/directorship interests in include KRS Properties, a limited service hotel in Portage, Wisconsin, Master Spas, a manufacturer and wholesaler/retailer of hot tubs and Monument Advisors, an investment firm. Mr. Hockett is the Owner and President of Family Auto, a conglomerate of five full-service auto dealerships with six product lines and two used car facilities.
Mr. Hockett also serves on the board of numerous charitable organizations including SportsWorld Ministries, the Jesus Film Project division of Campus Crusade, Baptist International Evangelical Mission, Indianapolis Care Center and Urban Foundation. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Butler University and he is a licensed auctioneer.
Stephen Houston, President of IARA and National Vice President, Vehicle Remarketing, Wachovia Dealer Services, formerly WFS Financial
Stephen Houston currently serves as National Vice President, Vehicle Remarketing, for Wachovia Dealer Services, formerly WFS Financial in Irvine, California. He joined WFS in that position in January 2001. He was born and raised in the car business, with a significant family background in remarketing, and is a 1979 graduate of the University of Washington. Mr. Houston spent more than 20 years in the Seattle area as a partner and owner of family-owned new-car dealerships, but finally left the rain in Seattle and relocated to Southern California in 1993. He managed several large dealership groups, including the Paulson Automotive Group in Beverly Hills, but left the retail side of the business in 1999 to pursue the best part of the industry – used cars, the auctions, and remarketing. He presently serves at the President of IARA.

Eric Ibara, Director, Market Valuation, Kelley Blue Book
Eric Ibara is director, market valuation for Kelley Blue Book. Ibara joined Kelley Blue Book in 2006 to oversee the valuation of all used-vehicle, residual and New Car Blue Book values (Kelley Blue Book's New Car Blue Book value is the transaction price of a new vehicle). The information Ibara manages is published in Kelley Blue Book's Official Used Car Guide, Early Model Guide, and Residual Value Guide. In addition, the data is utilized in the company's flagship dealer products, KARPOWER and Pocket KARPOWER, the software used for handheld and palm computers and the No. 1 vehicle information Web site, kbb.com. Prior to joining Kelley Blue Book, Ibara dedicated more than a decade to Mitsubishi Motors where he directed the financial planning department. In this role, he architected new ways of forecasting residuals values for the life-cycle of vehicle models and improved incentive cost forecasting. Ibara worked closely with pricing, marketing and the fleet business units to achieve greater accuracy in all areas of vehicle profitability. Prior to Mitsubishi, Ibara worked at Nissan Motor Corporation in financial planning. In this capacity, he handled long-range forecasts and strategic planning, including the viability and profitability of models for both the Nissan and Infiniti brands. Ibara also has worked for Disney and served as a consultant for Price Waterhouse prior to his work in the auto industry.

Steve Kapusta, Director of Remarketing, SmartAuction and Company Vehicles; General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Remarketing
Steve Kapusta began his career with GMAC in 1988 and has served in a variety of supervisory and management positions including controller’s, treasury and remarketing. He became involved with remarketing in 1999 when he was in the treasury department in charge of vehicle pricing. Since then he has been appointed manager of remarketing activities and recently appointed director of remarketing of SmartAuction and Company Vehicles. He has been recognized by GM with a number GM Chairman’s Award for Excellence in pricing, reporting and operating activities.
